Welcome to Seward Alaska! I'll be your guide today, my name is Ila.
We planned on a short family vacation at the beginning of March. It was the best timing because we had just added the newest member to our family the week before. I needed a break from Jon's midnight schedule that he had been on for 4 months, and it was the perfect time to bond as a family of 5. We drove down to Seward, a little fishing/resort town in southern Alaska. Everything is still covered in snow up here in the great white north, but we had lots of fun anyways.
The Sea Life Center was amazing! They have all kinds of sea animals, touch tanks, age appropriate fun activities, and the best part of all, we were the only visitors so all the animals in the tanks paid attention to us. I do enjoy getting special treatment.
Just hanging out at the hotel. We stayed in a townhouse, I LOVED it. The kids had a loft upstairs to sleep in with beds and of course pack n plays. There was a bedroom on the main level along with a small kitchen, bathroom, livingroom, and dining room. It was nice to have enough space to move around in since we stayed in side alot.
Cute little cuddle bug with a towel in one hand ( used for a burp rag, this kid is a professional heavy weight spitter upper) and his favorite blankie in the other.
Believe it or not this is Ila's first Alaskan snowman. We've gotten somewhere around 48 inches of snow this winter. Of all that wonderful snow, the heavens only delivered one snow storm that was suitable to build a proper snow man, and we missed our chance back in November when we were adjusting to being a family of 4 (my how time flies). The rest of the snow around here has been powder which means no fun snowman building. Ila and Jon made this snow man as I was checking out of our hotel, I think he's pretty cute.
We had a wonderfully relaxing vacation and came home feeling refreshed. This was our first real family vacation. All other breaks for us have been spent visiting family or moving. It was kind of weird to be with just our little family, but I loved it. I think it's safe to say that we all did.

You will have to tell me where you stayed...that sounds just like somewhere we could stay and not be pulling our hair out in three hours! (Like our "holiday" to Talkeetna).

Oh it looks like it was a fun trip. Love the baby snowman. When we moved here we thought we'd be making snowmen all the time but you're right, we get mostly powder. ;) Still fun though.
