Hiking in the Snow

Flat Top mountain is a popular hike around here.  It has amazing views of Anchorage and isn't too far away from home.  We were getting cabin fever with snow still on the ground in the middle of April, so a hike was in order.  This was my first hike it the snow.  I was a little skeptical at first, but it was fun and I can't wait to go again.  We didn't make it to the top of the hike, it was super steep and we had too many kids with us to crawl up the hard part without injury.  Instead we stopped on Blueberry Hill and had lunch before returning to our cars.

Ella, Ila, and Isaac were great little hikers!
Below us you can see the city of Anchorage and the Cook Inlet.
Pink gummy bears are the best!
Doing "Stiffy" on top of the world!

We slid down part of the way back, it was fun!

Carrie came with us too!  But she was behind her camera lens the whole time.  We have made such good friends in Alaska.  Friends who've become family.
