I love farmers markets! I've never appreciated them as much as I do now. Produce in Alaska just isn't the same as in the lower 48. Because almost everything is shipped or flown up here, it's incredibly expensive. On top of being expensive nothing lasts very long, so we have to eat it right away or it goes bad. It's been wonderful to be able to to go the farmers market and get FRESH produce, that lasts more than 3 days, and it just tastes better too. Ila and I have been going regularly this summer. Winter is literally right around the corner for us, I'm going to miss our weekly visits to the market.
