On December 24th, 2009 my trustworthy friend sewed it's very last stitch. This baby was a trooper to the very end. We've had many experiences together, sewing countless baby quilts, clothing, and other craft items. I remember when he was new, taking him out of the box with such delight. This Brother of mine lived to a ripe old age of 8 yrs. I'm sad to see him go, but I know that my sweet sewing machine is in a better place. A place filled with never ending bobbin thread and unbreakable needles. May you forever rest in peace. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in the form of a comment on how this wonderful Brother made an impact in your life. His family will much appreciate reliving the good times.
My mourning period didn't last very long. Out with the old and in with the new I say! I happened to know that Santa was bringing me a new sewing machine to love and nurture through it's life. I plan on teaching it many new tricks and raising it to be a competent reliable member of society. So far this new baby of mine has been a dream! Oh the fabric and thread just waiting to be used! It makes my heart sing!
Her maiden sewing excursion was sewing Ila's Can Can Skirt made with black chiffon ruffles. A great way to start a relationship, she performed very well. I think we will get along just fine. I will post pictures of her first's as soon as time permits. I have 2 babies in the house now :) and a new mom of three can get busy and overwhelmed. There's just so many possibilities to explore...

lets see....baby blankets with elephants that my big ole baby still sleeps with. Hooter Hider that was a MAJOR lifesaver, absolutely cute crawling socks for B and I still remember that beautiful dress you made for Eliza.... makes my heart pitter patter thinking about it. I happen to think the operator of the machine is pretty darn amazing... O)
Please explain "three." Are you babysitting another little baby or foster care? Hmmm, I have been the benefactor of many creative talents you have, but I do not recall anything from the Brother. :) Cute skirt for Ila by the way. Looks like one I have...just a grownup version.
Still lovin the curtians in elise's room, your brother will forever be remembered for them as will you!! You have great talent. The family pictures are adorable, Harlen totally fits into the family...though i think he looks more like you.
