Pete

Here are the long awaited pictures of our beloved pet Pete. You will notice that Pete has different physical characteristics in each picture. We call all moose Pete, male and female. Sometimes Ila will refer to them as Mommy Pete, Daddy Pete, and baby Pete. This one walked right in front of our car, we were going slow though so it wasn't too hard to stop in time.

Pete got confused and hopped into our neighbors yard instead of ours. They had a sprinkler on and Pete loves to play in the sprinklers so she just hopped the fence and proceeded to take a short shower and admire herself in the window. It was very funny to watch.

Here is our first Pete sighting in our back yard. This baby was probably less than a week old.

This is the same mommy Pete from the other picture. She walked around and ate and then went into the forest and then about 10 min later she came again but brought her baby too. Very exciting to see such a little baby moose. A little unnerving though, mommy Petes are very protective of their babies so I was a little worried about Jon taking pictures so close to them, he went outside and hid behind our fence, which we've proved in previous pictures, that the fences do not keep the moose out. He was fine in the end. I guess he didn't make the mommy Pete mad, smart man.

Hey How are you!? This is Steve and Nicole Boyle. We were "blog-surfing" tonight and found your blog. Alaska huh? I think moose are the cutest, so that's fun you see them so often. Steve is in Dental school in LA and we talk about going to Alaska when we are done for a year internship thing. Maybe it will happen. Who knows. Hope things are well!
