First Camping Trip

After a year of gathering camping supplies we decided to go on our first family camping trip Labor Day weekend. Being as smart as I am, I decided on Thursday night that we should go camping on Friday. Jon had to go and set up one of our tents at 2 Friday afternoon so that we could reserve a spot. Every campsite was full by the time he was done setting up. We didn't get up there until it was already dark so we got to set up the rest of our camp, for the first time EVER, in the dark. It wasn't too bad though. We popped popcorn over the cook stove and watched a movie on the portable DVD Player. Ila thought it was great.

Ila is a rock collecter. Every few feet she had to stop and get another rock.
We went on a little hike and had fun watching Ila look at the different rocks, flowers, and bugs. She isn't afraid of bugs, much to my suprise, she picks them right up so she can get a better look at them.

The mornings adventures took their toll on Ila. She coudn't make it back to the tent, she so fell asleep on Daddy's shoulder.
We had so much fun on our trip. We were only able to stay one night, but it was worth it. We camped at Old Mill Camp Site, Mt. Charleston. It was so nice to have it be cool in the day and even cold at night. I love being outdoors and sitting around the fire, especially with my family.
