Fall Festival

In Palmer, AK there is a Fall Festival every year.  We missed out on the fun last year, so this year we made sure we could go.  Ila picked out two pumpkins for us to take home.  This is the ONLY pumpkin patch that I know of in Alaska.  We had to pick our pumpkins in the middle of September, by October everything is frozen.

Ila got to test out a tractor.  Every time I see tractors I think of my Grandpa Bishop.  He would always let us ride on the tractor with him while he plowed the fields.  I hope Ila can ride on a tractor with him one of these days.
Notice Ila's stylish rain boots.  They are the footwear of choice for a good portion of the year.
Fall is so beautiful here in Alaska.  The only catch is that it's short, usually only two or three weeks, and wet from all the rain.  This year we had a very long fall, which was so nice.  It didn't rain that much either so Ila could actually play in the leaves.  She loved it!
The festival is at Pyrah's Pioneer Peak Farm.  It is a "u pick it farm".  We went here a few times this summer.  Ila did great picking the carrots.
 Star helped with the potatoes.
I love the dirt on Ila's face.  We aren't afraid to get dirty!  We had a wonderful time, and can't wait to go again next summer.
