I've been putting this post off for a while now. I guess it's time. Richard moved. He's been gone for about 6 weeks now. We had a very interesting year of doing foster care. Very busy and hectic year to say the least. Our foster care license expired last week, and I do not plan on renewing it right now. A new baby on the way and a deployment are enough for me to stay busy.
We learned so many things about ourselves individually and about our family over the last 12 months. I'm so grateful for the experiences we had, that would not have been possible without having two sweet baby boys in our home. It's funny how things work out. We started doing foster care because we were told by an infertility specialist that we could not conceive on our own. So we pushed forward with faith and looked into other ways to grow our family.
Apparently we just needed to have faith, and to move forward, because after doing so we were able to conceive, without medical help. Our baby girl is due in less than 7 weeks!
Harlen and Richard have both been able to be reunited with their relatives. I hope they are happy and healthy. I hope they benefited from being in our home. Before we started doing foster care I came across a quote that has stuck with me, "No amount of love will ever be wasted on a child." Each of our boys lived with us for 7 months. I hope in that 7 months they felt love in our home, love that they will keep with them through out their lives. They will not remember me, and that is okay. I however, will always remember them.

Beautiful post! Gave me the chills!
How hard it must have been to love and care for not one but to wonderful babies for over 1/2 a year and the have to give them back. I think that would be hard since you would get so attached. CONGRADULATIONS!! we are so very excited for you and your family with this new baby girl on the way. I can't wait to see pictures.
