Berry Picking Fun

This summer Ila and I went berry picking several times.  Ila is showing you a golden raspberry.  They were delicious!
Ila had her very own bucket to fill.  She did pretty good at getting mostly ripe berries.
This is at Hatchers Pass.  It's beautiful there!  The blueberries grow on the side of the mountain so we wandered through the bushes until we found berries, which were everywhere!  We didn't have to try too hard to fill our buckets.  Ila decided after about 30 minutes of berry picking that she needed to pick flowers and leaves instead.

We've been able to get enough berries to make several batches of jam.  I'm fairly confident that we have a year supply of freezer jam right now.  We picked red raspberries, golden raspberries, and blueberries.  Ila was my official taste tester, of the berries and the jam.  She's so helpful!
