I have a 3 yr old going on 13 in my house and I get reminded of it every day. My little princess is growing up so fast. We had a pirate birthday party and she loved it! She especially liked sword fighting with Jon for several weeks after her birthday. We finally had to hide the swords because she has never ending energy and Jon and I do not.
I just love this girl!
We decorate the kitchen for everyone's birthday and leave it up for a few days afterwords. Ila was super excited about her decorations and she felt very special haivng her own decorated chair.
Landon was Ila's only friend at her party. He is her very best friend. Landon is a day older than Ila and they have known eachother most of their lives. Landon came to visit his grandparents up here in Alaska and we got to play with them alot while they were here for 5 weeks. Jon set up a treasure hunt for the kids to go on so they could find the burried treasure.
I am so proud of myself with her cake. I made the whole thing from scratch. The cake, filling, frosting, fondent, and okay I did buy the treasure. I had so much fun doing it! I love you Ila, Happy Birthday!

you made homemade fondant? oh we are going to have so much fun when you come over everyday for mike's deployment. i think you've found your calling in life. people will pay you to make that ya know!
Oh how cool that Landon got to celebrate a Birthday party for Ila up there. That's pretty cool! Really sweet cake skills too!
I'm impressed! I Cohen had to settle for a dump truck cake...in which I made 2 box cakes and box of pudding. crumbled the cakes (this part was especially difficult) and mixed it with the pudding. Then shoveled it all into the back of a dump truck. I'm not sure you'd be able to master the dump truck cake if all you made was an entire treasure chest:)
That cake is AWESOME!!! And that's so fun that Landon could be there to celebrate her birthday.
