Our beautiful Alaska weather keeps the sun up until about 3 a.m. It goes down for an hour or so and then comes up again so we have lots and lots of light in our house. (I'm not complaining, I love it.) I was concerned about getting enough sleep at night, especially for Ila so I made her a thick curtain that blocks out most of the light. She didn't have it for the first three weeks we lived in our house so she got used to having enough light to read a book in bed. Well, after I made the curtain and hung it up we put her to bed as usual. She had her 10 Ladibug book to read in bed and we said goodnight. It was very dark in her room and I thought to myself that she wouldn't be able to read her book, but we let her hold it anyways. We always leave her door open a few inches so she doens't feel shut in. 10 minutes later we hear noise coming from upstairs so Jon goes to investigate. He found a little nose burried in a book sitting at the door to her room so she could read her book with the light coming from the crack in her door. Oh my heart melted, she loves books! I couln't be happier.
