Mommy a Pink Door, it's Beautiful!

We have moved into our house and can now officially say that we moved (emphasis on the ed) to Alaska. No more hotels for us! I think I might be the most excited about that part right now. We had 5 weeks worth of sleeping in different beds and that starts to take toll on an old body like mine. :) We live on the base in a new housing complex called Moose Crossing. We are in a side by side 4 plex, but so far we haven't heard any noises from our neighbors on both sides. Across the street from us is a huge field to play soccer in and a large playground for Ila to enjoy. The best part of our location is the view from the back yard. We have a forest of trees and a mountain view from our windows. I like to sit and just watch the trees, it's very peaceful. I dropped Ila off at day care yesterday so I could be there for the movers to drop off our stuff. So they came and left me with mountains of boxes. Now the fun really begins. It was cute when Ila saw our door. "Oh mommy a pink door! Its so beautiful! The movers gave our boxes back to us? That's so nice of them!" Our door is really a reddish brown in case you were wondering. I unpacked the upstairs before Ila got home so she went right to playing with her long lost toys. Our home has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and laundry up stairs. Downstairs is a living room, family room, 1/2 bath, dinning room and kitchen. It's the biggest house we have ever been in so I'm pretty excited to have so much more space and it's a newer house, within the last 5 yrs so it's very nice inside. Ahhh, no more brick and old yucky houses. Another very exciting thing is that we were under our weight limit. Yeah for me! Before we moved we meticulously went through the house and did some serious dejunking. When we left Las Vegas our truck was 3000 pounds over our limit, YIKES! But, there was a huge discrepancy in our weight so upon arrival to Alaska our belongings were re-weighed and the final number was a mere 80 pounds below our limit. I think we took full advantage of our resources. We will even get to be paid for the remaining 80 pounds because we brought some things in our car. (When I say "some" I mean a mini van with only 3 passengers packed to the limit in the Bishop fashion. I'll explain The Bishop Fashion later.) I was so happy to get the good news this morning. A huge relief, since if we had been over weight we would have had to pay for it. I told Jon that I wanted to be completely unpacked by Monday so we have our work cut out for us. (Which is why I'm blogging instead of working, it seemed much more fun.) I think we might make it, or at least be pretty close to being done soon. I have a huge list of projects to get started on so I'm anxious to be settled in. I am so happy that we have a house, it's really real now, we moved.

Yeah, I'm so glad you have a home! I am hoping we have a place to move into soon. But at least I won't have to be in a different bed for 5 weeks, that must have gotten old quick!
