And Off We Go!

Well we are off to Alaska with just a few planned detours on the way. Originally we were supposed to leave on Wednesday this week, but everything fell into place for us to leave Monday afternoon! We have six days to spend in California. On the agenda are Sea World, The San Diego Zoo, and Disney Land. Ila is going to LOVE IT! Which will make it that much more fun for me and Jon. We are big kids at heart anyways (and I mean REALLY BIG kids.) I am very excited to go on our new adventure. Saying good bye wasn’t any easier though. I cried saying good bye to my closest friends today, and cried yesterday, and last Thursday when my friends had a going away play date for me and Ila. We truly are blessed and loved our time in Las Vegas. I couldn’t have asked for better friends to surround myself with or better friends for my little girl. It made me cry even more when Ila cried because we had to leave, all she wanted to do was play with her friends, come on Mom, is that such a hard thing to do?

I wanted to make a list of my favorite things to do in Las Vegas so here it is:

Picking fresh produce at Gilcrease Orchards
The Dinosaur Park – need I say more?
Town Square – Really fun park for kids!
Hiking in Red Rock Canyon, and Valley of Fire State Park
Camping in Mt. Charleston
Swimming in Lake Mohave
Old Las Vegas petting zoo
MGM Grand: Lion Habitat and The Cir De Sole show KA
Blue Man Group
The Springs Preserve – Very fun and educational. You can also walk through the gardens and trails for FREE! I love free things!
Bass Pro Shops: I know this seems weird, but they have a Mermaid Lagoon with a huge aquarium and regular Mermaid visits throughout the day.
The Golden Nugget: Awesome pool with a huge aquarium in the middle of the pool, so you kind of swim with the sharks and other fun fish.
Hanging out ALL DAY with my friends.

I could probably go on some more if I thought about it hard enough.

I'm sitting in our hotel room waiting for Ila and Jon to wake up. Come on! Who needs sleep? The past two weeks I've been waking up every half hour starting around 5 am. I wait for the sun to rise a little then I get out of bed. This morning it was at 6:30. So I'm sitting here cruising the web waiting for my family to get up. I just can't sleep in anymore. I think I have my dad to blame that one on. He sits around in the mornings waiting to go to work, poor guy, now I know how he must feel.
Well, we will be off to Sea World. I can't wait to see how Ila reacts to all the animals, she loves them to pieces! I'll check back in tonight, or early tomorrow morning while waiting yet again for people to wake up. (At least they only sleep until 7:30 or 8)

I know we haven't been hanging out much lately but I want you to know that I think about you often and am going to miss you so much. You are such a wonderful person and a great friend. The people in Alaska are going to be blessed to have you in their lives. I am grateful for the time I had with you and will always treasure those memories. Enjoy your vacation and let me know if you pass through Vegas again.
