Jon's schedule at work changed this month. Now he has to work 6 days a week and 12 hr shifts each day. We aren't too excited about that. When we found out about the schedule change we decided we should go camping again before we wouldn't have any time too. We went in the middle of the week and in the middle of September. Most people wouldn't go to the mountains to camp in September, but remember we live in Las Vegas. It was really nice up on the mountain. We went to Mt. Charleston again, but stayed at a different camp site. It is so nice to get away from life every once in a while. Ila found the stick of butter I had out to use when I cooked breakfast. She said, "Mmm, its good" Jon saw her first and was exasperated with her. I told him, "Don't get mad, take a picture!" I've been trying to live by this motto lately. It's helped me to not get upset over the little things, like butter with bite marks in it.
We found these head lamps and absolutely love them! It is so nice to have two free hands, especially when you are holding a wiggling two yr old as well.
We bring Ila's little potty camping with us so that she can use the toilet but not have to use the porta potty's. I thought she would be scared of them. Oh no, not my daughter. She told us that she wanted to go pee pee on the big orange potty. Go figure. Ila likes to use public restrooms more than she likes to use the one at home. Any suggestions on how to get her to like our toilet at home? Maybe I should paint the walls orange, I'd rather not though.
We found a small, very small stream. Ila got her hands wet and had a blast collecting wet and dry rocks. She is so cute to watch. Our campsite was right next to a small hill. Jon and Ila collected pine cones and rolled them down the hill. It entertained both of them for at least an hour both days we were in the mountains. Who needs toys when you have pinecones!

That butter story is funny! I like your motto though about not getting mad, but taking a picture- such good advice. Hmmm, clueless about the potty though since we are at a stand still in this house when it comes to potty training. And not standing still to use the potty, unfortunately!
