Pioneer Days

Our stake has a Pioneer Day Celebration every year. Ila and I went by ourselves since Jon had to work. Ila had fun running around all of the booths. Our ward was in charge of the butter booth. Ila had a turn at shaking the jar of cream to make butter. And boy does she like butter. I found her with her hands in the bowl of butter I was using to butter the toast. She licked it off of her fingers and went back for more before I realized what she was doing.

I tied a balloon to Ila's shoe so she wouldn't lose it. This worked out well for me since I could see a balloon bobbing in the air so it was easy to track her when she decided to run away. She thinks its so funny to run away from me. I'm hoping its just a phase. We enjoyed snow cones and fry bread at the celebration. This reminded me of when I was little and going to the Cantaloupe Festival in Fallon. Good memories.

Butter booth? My goodness, I think Glen volunteered a booth or security one year, but we never did make it as a family to the celebration. Too much chaos and excuses for me. But that snow cone and fry bread sure sound yummy. Wait! Maybe I did do a nacho booth one year. O.k. I don't feel like a total slacker.=)
